Sample Programs for Assisted Living
Physical
Seated Exercise
Our seated exercise programs are designed to be accessible and adaptable for all physical abilities. Our classes can focus on residents’ differing needs, including programs to support mobility, core strength, upper body strength, posture and circulation!
Balance and Fall Prevention
A typical class involves 3 sections. Starting with our foundational exercises, we work on joint stability and postural strength. We follow up with an educational section where we look at various aspects of balance and fall prevention, from the physiology of aging and how our balance is affected, to preventative measures we can use around the home. The last section involves exercises or activities designed to work on a focused area each session. Whether that’s dynamic or static balance games, proprioception exercises, or walking and gait mechanics, it’s a fun way to explore and improve balance together!
Indoor Games/ Hand-eye Programs
By bringing a variety of games and activities to your community, we can help residents increase their activity levels, and have fun at the same time! A little healthy competition and teamwork can also be beneficial to fostering a collaborative, supportive atmosphere between residents.

Whether the class takes on fresh baked cookies, a savory treat, or tries their hand at making jams and sauces, food and drink classes are always popular! Classes are hands-on, and residents will enjoy the fruits of their labors.
Music Exploration
Singing groups can be a great creative outlet and a way to make friends with other residents with a passion for music, as can our Improvised Orchestra classes. For those who prefer to listen rather than create, our Musical Journeys explores a different musical theme each time, allowing residents to explore their favorite songs and some of the stories behind them.
Social/Community
Tasting Events
Bring the community together to experience local tastes and flavors. Wine and Cheese tastings, local produce demonstrations, single-origin chocolate or coffee tastings, are combined with a fun and informative talk. These events can also be a great way for communities to learn about and sample healthier food options!
